Salary and benefits   :    Monthly Gross Salary will be 61,420/- with other admissible benefits such as festival bonus, provident fund, gratuity, medical benefit, group life insurance etc.
Project Brief

ActionAid Bangladesh engages in the Safe Cities for Women Campaign with a view to raise awareness about the existence of sexual violence against women and girls in the urban public spaces. The safe city initiative is not a standalone or a new experience for AAB. It is originated from the previous experience of women right’s work across the ActionAid (AA) federation. So far, ‘safe cities for women campaign’ is active in 20 countries where ActionAid operates and out of them 4 countries have launched the campaign which includes Bangladesh.  The SHE CAN project complements with the safe cities for women campaign. It is a 3 year multi-country project operating in Zimbabwe, Kenya, Myanmar and Bangladesh. 
Key responsibilities include (not limited to)
  • Develop strategy for SHE CAN project implementation i.e. operational plan, monitoring and evaluation etc;
  • Prepare Plans and budget, meeting donor compliance and maintaining coordination with finance, M&E, Internal Audit, fund raising team;
  • Ensure programme/project and strategic integration between SPs and LRPs;
  • Organize and facilitate capacity building/training for staff of SHE CAN project;
  • Support partner organizations and Campaign Officer in 6 divisional cities to design and organize training and orientation for community;
  • Supporting online and offline campaign of Safe City;
  • Support/conduct/facilitate research, prepare reports, change stories, best practices on Safe City for Women issues;
  • Team Building & Team Management
 Relationships
This position reports to Deputy Director – Programme, Policy and Campaigns of ActionAid Bangladesh. It will keep a functional and programmatic relationship with Manager – Women Rights & Gender Equity; Director – Programme, Policy & Campaigns; Senior Management Team of Population Services and Training Center (PSTC) and SHE CAN project operational teams for accelerated and effective implementation of project and horizontal integration with WR core programme that achieve gender equality. It also requires deepening understanding on SVAW campaigning having analytical ability of underlying causes of VAW & G; patriarchy, masculinity and sexuality, SRHR and body integrity. Galvanizing urban participants for slum driven action points and has good communication skill for maintaining liaison with multi stakeholders and duty bearers.
Required qualification and competencies
  • Masters in social science, women and gender statutes, Development Studies or relevant subject(s);
  • At least 4 years of experiences in working on similar issue in a reputable I/NGO;
  • Good understanding on project management and implementation;
  • Good understanding on Gender, Women Rights and Public services;
  • Capacity to analyze the gaps of existing, laws, policies and practices related to Safe City;
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent campaigning and communication skills;
  • Negotiation skill, motivational skill is required e.g. with donors and partner organizations;
  • Ability to work under extreme pressure and meeting deadline;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Good communication and report writing skills both in English and Bangla;
