Vacancy Re-Announcement
To complement its team, the Embassy of Switzerland in
Bangladesh re-announces the earlier published announcement for qualified
Bangladeshi candidates to submit applications for the position of
1 National Project Officer (Vocational Skills Development)
Responsibilities
The main tasks for the assignments are the following:
- Manage a portfolio of Government, NGO and
private-sector implemented vocational skills training projects and
ensure effective monitoring and steering.
- Conceptualise new projects and lead through the public tendering and internal approval processes.
- Monitor and analyse the technical education and vocational skills training sector.
- Maintain and expand relations with a wide network of relevant stakeholders; particularly within the Government of Bangladesh.
- Further develop and implement the results monitoring and reporting system.
- Ensure the mainstreaming of issues of poverty,
social inclusion, gender, governance and disaster risk reduction within
the portfolio.
- Contribute to domain-specific and overall strategic programme development
Requirements
The requirements for the position are:
- Post-graduate degree from a reputed Bangladeshi or foreign academic institution
- Minimum of 5 years of development-related work experience in the field of technical education and vocational training.
- Experience with multilateral projects and sector-wide approaches and/ or result-based financing are an asset.
- Understanding of political issues and government functioning in Bangladesh. Functional network within government is an asset.
- Practical experience (preferably in an implementing
organisation) with operational and financial management of development
projects is an asset.
- Experience in results monitoring and reporting.
- Good understanding of poverty, social inclusion, gender, good governance and conflict sensitive programme management.
- Excellent strategic, analytical and conceptual capacities.
- Strong communication and networking skills; full
proficiency in English, team and independent work capability, gender
sensitivity.
- Readiness to travel to rural regions within Bangladesh.
